Strategic Planning

The NSNU Board of Directors has been strongly committed to sound strategic planning processes since its first Strategic Plan in 2002.  Through situation analysis, and a critical review of previous strategic directions, as well as input from NSNU staff, the Board works to develop new strategic directions that are current, essential and achievable.  This long term plan is aimed at charting a course for the future that will address the mounting challenges in health care delivery which impact our members directly.

A Strategic Plan cannot, of course, include everything that is important to the Union. Rather, a strategic plan should focus on “make or break” issues. These are issues or conditions that must be addressed for an organization to remain relevant and responsive.  The responses to these “make or break” issues are referred to as Strategic Directions.
